These classes are hands-on Drone Technology Programs that introduce participants to aviation, drone flight, coding, FPV technology, esports, and aerial media production in a structured, engaging learning environment.

Participants will gain foundational to advanced drone skills while developing problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and STEM career awareness. Participants will also have the opportunity to earn their FAA Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) Certificate.

Open to youth and adults.

Introduction to Drone Technology & FAA TRUST Program
  • This introductory course provides students with a comprehensive foundation in drone safety, flight, programming, and aerial media. Students complete FAA TRUST safety training while learning airspace rules, pre-flight procedures, and system operations. Using simulators and Tello drones, they develop basic flight skills before transitioning to DJI Neo drones for creative video projects.
  • No prerequisite or experience needed.

2nd Lieutenant Drone Course – Introduction to Drone Programming
  • This course emphasizes coding, flight control, and drone hardware systems using the Go-Tello programming app and a DIY Drone Kit. Students program drones, complete simulation missions, and test live flight programming using DJI Tello drones. The course concludes with programming-based flight missions, manual flight challenges, and collaborative teamwork activities.

Captain Drone Course – Deep Dive Into the DJI Neo Drone
  • This advanced course transitions students into manual RC piloting, FPV flight operations, and aerial media mastery using the DJI Neo Drone and FPV goggles. Students complete advanced flight missions and a creative DJI Neo movie project before participating in RC and FPV challenge missions.
  • Prerequisite: Must have completed either Introduction to Drone Technology & FAA TRUST Program, or, 2nd Lieutenant Drone Course - Introduction to Drone Programming
